Concert to benefit food shelf
KEESEVILLE — They'll sing for someone else's supper.

The vocal group After Thoughts will perform at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. John the Baptist Church in Keeseville.

Also performing Sunday will be folksinger Lita Kelly and pianist Jay Lesage.

Admission is a cash donation or contribution of nonperishable food items that will benefit the Adirondack Community Action Program's food shelf in Elizabethtown and Keeseville United Methodist Church.

After Thoughts' 11 vocalists, directed by Jeanette Woodruff, will sing a variety of numbers, including "I Got the Sun in the Morning" from "Annie Get Your Gun," "You are the New Day" by the King Singers and "The Battle Hymn of the Republic."

Carol Bachand accompanies the group, which formed last summer with the aim of giving back.

"Largely, we want to do performances to help charitable organizations," Woodruff said.

The six men and five women come from a variety of backgrounds.

"There's a man who owns an insurance business, a French teacher," said Woodruff, whose husband, Steve, is one of the voices. "There's a post-office clerk, a special ed teacher ...

"People who like to sing and are dedicated to the group."
