Brown Bag series continues
PLATTSBURGH — "Faith-based: First Line of Defense" is the topic of the next Brown Bag program sponsored by Behavioral Health Services North (BHSN) and the National Alliance on Mental Illness: Champlain Valley (NAMI: CV).
Set for 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, in the second floor meeting room of Plattsburgh City Library on Oak Street, the event features the Rev. Jesse Doerrer and Rabbi Emma Gottlieb.
Bring your lunch. Resource materials will be provided.

Shaman holding workshops in Plattsburgh
PLATTSBURGH — Several Shamanic lectures by Adhi Two Owls are planned for Jan. 27 through 29.
A "Shamanic Lecture and Healing Circle" is at 7 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Plattsburgh, 4 Palmer St. The Healing Circle ceremony will focus on healing the heart and opening the connection to community. Attendees are encouraged to bring a drum or rattle, white flowers and a white seven-day candle to build the altar.
"Shamanism, Science and Radeisthesia/Dowsing" is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 28 at the Ita Bullard Art Gallery on Spitfire Drive in Plattsburgh. The presentation will be part lecture and experiential. Attendees should bring a pendulum and notebook if possible.
"New Global Shaman Teachings" is planned from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 29 at the Ita Bullard Studio and Gallery on Spitfire Drive in Plattsburgh. The workshop is for advanced study techniques. Participants should have taken the "Shamanism, Science, and Radiesthesia/Dowsing" to have a basic understanding of how the pendulum works and the protocols for finding sigils.
