Fellowship aim of Pound Auction
MOOERS — Mooers United Methodist Church will host a Pound Auction at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, to promote fun and fellowship.
All are invited to take part whether they bid or not on the mystery packages that weigh about one pound each.
"Feel free to bring your own wrapped item to have auctioned off," said the Rev. Al Johnson, pastor, in a press release. "You may get a bath ensemble and gift certificate to a specialty store or you may get a simple knickknack that you can use in next year's office grab bag."
Beverages are provided and participants are encouraged to bring a snack to share.
"We try to have special items for our younger friends, too," Johnson said.
