Alzheimer support groups to meet
PLATTSBURGH -- The Alzheimer's Disease Assistance Center offers free monthly support groups in the tri-county area for caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia.
The next sessions are 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday: at the Alzheimer's Disease Assistance Center, Plattsburgh State, Sibley Hall, Room 227, Rugar Street, in Plattsburgh, and from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Third Age Adult Day Center, 24th Fourth St., Suite 7, Malone (on the Alice Hyde Medical Center Campus). A session is held the second Wednesday of every month from noon to 1 p.m. at Horace Nye Nursing Home, conference room, Park Street, Elizabethtown. The second Tuesday from 4 to 5 p.m. is the time for the group at Inter-Lakes Health, Ethan Allen Library, 1019 Wicker St., Ticonderoga.
And in Saranac Lake, a group is held on the fourth Thursday of every month from 6 to 7 p.m. at Adirondack Medical Center, first floor conference room, Lake Colby Drive.
AMC to host
flu-shot sessions
SARANAC LAKE -- Adirondack Medical Center is hosting flu clinics for anyone older than age 18 at the following times and locations next month: 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at Lake Placid Health Center, 29 Church St., Lake Placid; 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at Tupper Lake Health Center, 55 Church St., Tupper Lake; and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at Mountain Health Center, State Route 73, Keene.
For those who do not have Medicare, there is a $10 charge for the flu vaccine, which is partially funded by the AMC Foundation.
Appointments for children's flu shots may be made at one of the AMC health centers.

Essex County immunizations available
ELIZABETHTOWN -- On Monday, Nov. 10, Elizabethtown Essex County Public Health will hold an immunization and lead-screening clinic at its Elizabethtown office, 132 Water Street, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. by appointment; and a immunization clinic at Adirondack Medical Center on Church Street in Lake Placid from 4 to 6 p.m.

Clinton County clinics scheduled
PLATTSBURGH -- The Clinton County Health Department offers immunizations for all ages, lead screening for children and confidential and anonymous HIV testing.
Immunizations take place at the Old Court House, 32 Court St., Plattsburgh, on Mondays -- Nov. 10, 17 and 24 -- from 12:30 to 3:15 p.m.; Thursday, Nov. 6, 13 and 20; and Wednesday, Nov. 26 -- from 1 to 3:15 p.m.
Also, there will be immunization clinics and from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at the Old Court House and from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, at Clinton Community College's Science and Technology Building.
A Well Child Clinic is set for 8 a.m. to noon Monday, Nov. 10, at the Old Court House. A lead-screening clinic will take place from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20.
HIV testing is set for 10:30 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Nov. 20.

Heart support group to meet Nov. 10
PLATTSBURGH -- Mended Hearts of CVPH, Chapter 316, will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, in Auditorium A, CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
Marla Givens, CVPH nutritionist, will present "Heart Healthy Holiday Recipes," with samples to taste.
