Girls Night sold out
PLATTSBURGH — Girls Night Out, the Foundation of CVPH's annual event in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, set this year for 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. in the E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium in Plattsburgh State's Hawkins Hall, is sold out.
Essex Co. to hold clinics
ELIZABETHTOWN — Essex County Public Health will hold an immunization and lead-screening clinic at its Elizabethtown office from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, by appointment. Call 873-3500.
Blood-pressure screenings are set for 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Oct. 21, at the Keeseville Nutrition Site, Keeseville Town Hall, 1790 Main St. in Keeseville, and from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, Oct. 23, at the Schroon Lake Senior Center, Main Street in Schroon Lake.
Good nutrition battles disease
PLATTSBURGH — Mandy Snay, RD, will discuss how good nutrition plays a part in battling disease with her presentation, An Apple A Day Keeps The Doctor Away (And Heart Disease and Diabetes at Bay) at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Comfort Inn in Plattsburgh. The talk by Snay, who represents Clinton County Health Department and the North Country Diabetes Program, is part of the CVPH Community Lecture series, sponsored by the Foundation of CVPH. Flu clinic set for Nov. 6
PLATTSBURGH — Price Chopper Pharmacy will hold a flu clinic from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6. The price is $30 for the flu shot and $45 for the pneumonia shot. Appointments are required and can be made by calling the pharmacy at 562-3565. Medicare part B is accepted with no co-pay, as are other HMOs.
Kinney welcomes new pharmacists
MALONE — Pharmacists Susan Poupore, Jamey Skelly and Charlie Bryden have joined the staff of the Kinney Drugs store located at 3400 St. Route 11 in Mooers. All are graduates of the Albany College of Pharmacy.
Poupore began her career in 1988 with Kessler's Pharmacy in Albany. She most recently worked as a staff pharmacist at Rite Aid in Malone.
Skelly's career began with Kinney Drugs in 1982 as supervising pharmacist in the Malone and Lowville pharmacy locations. In 1991, he joined Fay's Drugs, which was acquired by Eckerd Drugs and subsequently Rite Aid. He spent the last seven years with Rite Aid in Malone.
Bryden first worked at Fay's Drugs, where he assumed the role of supervising pharmacist for 23 years. After Fay's was sold, he also worked for Eckerd and Rite Aid at the Malone location until joining Kinney's.
New chiropractor joins Living Well
PLATTSBURGH — Dr. Terry Thomas has joined the staff of Living Well Chiropractic on Brinkerhoff Street in Plattsburgh.
A Connecticut native, Thomas holds a B.A. in biopsychology from Western State College of Colorado in Gunnison, Colo., and a D.C. from New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls.
