'êPeter Pan' auditions set for Oct. 16, 17, 18
PERU — Auditions for the Adirondack Regional Theatre production of the award-winning musical "Peter Pan" will be held at Peru Central School's high-school auditorium Thursday, Oct. 16, and Friday, Oct. 17, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 18.
"Peter Pan" will be the inaugural production of Adirondack Regional Theatre at Peru Music Theatre. J.M. Barrie's story of the boy who never wants to grow up has parts for actors of all ages. Children wishing to audition must be in at least third grade.
Auditioners will be asked to sing a song a cappella, perform a monologue or tell a story and learn a simple dance step.

Members meeting scheduled
WILLSBORO — The Essex Theatre Company will hold its annual members meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, following a board meeting at 6:30 p.m.
Both meetings will be held at the Willsboro Visitors Center on Route 22 in Willsboro. The public is invited to attend.
Rustic Riders release debut CD
SARANAC LAKE — The Rustic Riders will celebrate the release of their debut CD, "Hearing Hearts," with a performance at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, at Bluseed Studios, 24 Cedar St., Saranac Lake.
Multi-instrumentalist and producer Dan Duggan will join Lisa Meissner, Klaus Meissner and Bill Chamberlain for the event. The Rustic Riders play original music by Lisa that is infused with a traditional sensibility. Admission to the concert is $10, and CDs will be available for sale.
"Hearing Hearts" was produced and recorded by Dan Duggan at his studio Esperance Productions in Red Creek.
The Rustic Riders have entertained audiences around the North Country at venues that include the Clayton Opera House, the Russell Opera House and Palmer Street Coffee House in Plattsburgh.

Wal-Mart gives grant to museum
BLUE MOUNTAIN LAKE — The Adirondack Museum at Blue Mountain Lake has received a donation from Wal-Mart Inc. of $1,000.
Museum Educator Christine Campeau said in a press release that the funds will be used to purchase teaching objects for use in school presentations such as reproduction period clothing, animal puppets and camping gear, as well as art supplies and storage containers.
The Wal-Mart Foundation supports local, state and national organizations, providing opportunities for individuals and families to live better, the release said. The Foundation's four areas of focus include education, health, job skills and sustainability.
