Artists invited to trade supplies
LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid Center for the Arts' Artist & Craft Supplies Swap is from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, in the LPCA Front Building, Saranac Avenue, Lake Placid.

Modeled after local plant swaps, the event invites participants to bring supplies in for trade. The organizers will determine the point value of the supplies, and the trader will receive a Points Card with allowable trading points. All items must be checked in between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. The swap is open only to those with a SWAP Points Card. After all trading is completed, the items still available will be sold to the public until 1 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the center's Workshop Program or be donated to local arts programs.

Items may include but are not limited to: painting and drawing supplies, fiber art supplies (knitting, sewing, weaving, felting, rug making, etc.); printmaking and stamping; scrapbooking; beadwork and jewelry-making supplies; basketry; art books; patterns; and frames. All SWAP items must be in good usable condition, and the organizers reserve the right to reject some items and/or hazardous materials at their discretion.
