Annual Block Party coming up

MERRILL — The Chateaugay Lakes Association is holding its annual Block Party from 3 to 8 p.m. July 7 at the Women’s Society of Christian Services Camp, Route 374, on Chateaugay Lake.

Live music by the Rabideau Brothers and barbecue food will be featured. Bring a beverage and a covered dish.

All Lakes Association members, property owners and their families are welcome. New and renewal membership sign-ups will be available at the party. Memberships cost $15 for a single or $20 for a family.

Museum plans day of family fun

BLUE MOUNTAIN LAKE — Adirondack Museum is hosting Familypalooza 2012 with a day of outdoor family fun, adventure and exploration July 7.

Music will be provided by The Zucchini Brothers with their program “The Beatles of Kids’ Music” at noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. The Utica Zoomobile will present special programs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Other activities include a bounce house, scavenger hunt, face painting, crafts, s’more making and more.

Children age 17 and under can visit free of charge. General admission for students, seniors and adults ranges from $12 to $18.

The Adirondack Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week through Oct. 14. The museum will close at 3 p.m. Aug. 10 and Sept. 7 for special-event preparations.

Circus Birthday Party set for July 3

TICONDEROGA — The Ticonderoga Festival Guild’s Arts Trek programs for children is celebrating 30 years of continuous presentations in 2012.

The first season event is a Circus Birthday Party at 10:15 a.m. July 3 at the Knights of Columbus Pavilion. The program is free for children and those who bring them.

Stephen Gratto, who has performed solo for Arts Trek several times, will bring his “Family Circus” show to headline the event. He has been joined in his act by his sons. Gratto is a juggler extraordinaire, a tightrope walker and a stilt walker.

Following the performance, birthday cake will be served. Several clowns will also attend the performance and add to the celebration.

Support group for nursing moms to meet

PLATTSBURGH — La Leche League, a breast-feeding information and support group, meets at 7 p.m. Monday at Family Connections on U.S. Oval.

The group, which is for all women, meets the first Monday of every month. Babies are also welcome.
