NCCI to discuss Affordable Care Act

PLATTSBURGH — The North Country Center for Independence's next Lunch & Learn program, "The Affordable Care Act: Clearing up the Confusion," is planned from noon to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 16.

The Affordable Care Act, which was signed into law on March 29, 2010, has a large list of features that go into effect over a number of years. A large number of changes have already gone into effect.

Robert Poulin and Andrew Pulrang of the North Country Center for Independence will discuss the changes' impact on New Yorkers, including those with disabilities. Discussion facilitators will look at the most common questions, concerns and misconceptions people have about the law. They will aim at highlighting the facts and how the Affordable Care Act will affect people in their everyday lives.

The event at 80 Sharron Ave. is free and open to the public. Please RSVP by calling 563-9058 so enough food is ordered for lunch.
