LAKE CLEAR — Three Lake Clear residents were displaced by a fire at their home Sunday morning.
Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department received a call at 10:16 a.m. reporting a fire at the Blanchard residence at 357 County Route 50, according to Chief Brendan Keough.
Keough said his crew arrived to see flames working their way across the ceiling of the home and venting out through the roof.
Firefighters were able to get in quickly and extinguish flames and hot spots, he said.
No injuries were reported.
Saranac Lake received mutual aid from Paul Smith's-Gabriels Volunteer Fire Department and Bloomingdale and Lake Placid Fire Departments.
Keough said Sunday afternoon the cause and source of the fire were still under investigation, but it is possible it began in the home's woodstove.
The Blanchards will eventually be able to return to their residence, though not immediately, according to Keough.
The Red Cross was notified, he said, and the Blanchards are likely staying with family members until repairs can be made to their home.
Keough said he believes the home was insured.
