PLATTSBURGH — A Mooers Forks man was arrested for felony DWI.
Jeremiah R. Benjamin, 29, was driving west on Oak Street at about 2:30 a.m. Sept. 28 when he was pulled over by Plattsburgh-based State Police for having an inadequate muffler on his vehicle.
The officer allegedly detected the smell of alcoholic beverages on Benjamin's breath before administering a standard field sobriety test which he failed.
He was arrested and charged with a felony DWI for having a prior offense. He was also charged with misdemeanor DWI and cited for not having a proper exhaust system on his vehicle.
Benjamin was arraigned in the City of Plattsburgh Court and was released to a third party.
He is due back in court Oct. 3.
