SARANAC LAKE — A Saranac Lake man was arrested for allegedly stealing a bicycle.
Shortly before 8 a.m. Thursday morning, Saranac Lake Police arrested Brandon S. May, 18, according to a press release from the Saranac Lake Police Department.
May was found in possession of a stolen bike and when police saw it he allegedly tried to hide it, according to the release.
Investigation revealed he had allegedly stolen the bike from a residence a short distance away from where he was found by police, police said.
When he was arrested, police found a marijuana smoking device containing a small amount of marijuana, police said.
May was charged with second-degree burglary, a felony; fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
May was arraigned and remanded to Essex County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
The Saranac Lake Village Court could not be reached Thursday for the date of May’s next court appearance.
