PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was arrested for allegedly strangling a woman and violating an order of protection.
On March 4, Plattsburgh City Police were called to a domestic incident in which it is alleged that Jody White, 34, was in a physical dispute with a woman he was in a relationship with, said City Police Lt. Scott Beebie.
During the altercation, White had allegedly grabbed the woman by the neck, choked her and pinned her down, Beebie said.
The woman sustained some minor injuries to her body, head and face but did not receive medical treatment, he said.
White was arrested at the residence and was charged with second-degree strangulation with obstruction breathing or blood circulation, a felony, and first-degree criminal contempt, also a felony.
He was arraigned in City Court and taken to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
A stay-away order of protection was issued, Beebie said.
