CHESTERFIELD — Two New York City residents were arrested Sunday for alleged cocaine possession.
Keeseville-based State Police discovered an undisclosed amount of cocaine during a traffic stop on I-87 in the Town of Chesterfield at 9:39 a.m. Sunday, according to a State Police press release.
Nearly $5,000 cash was also found and seized by police.
Albert Colon, 38, and Rosamaria E. Nieves, 33, were both charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony.
Colon and Nieves were both arraigned in Chesterfield Town Court and transferred to the custody of the Essex County Jail for failure to make bail, according to the release.
Keeseville-based State Police were assisted by Troop B Narcotic Enforcement Unit based in Ray Brook.
State Police request any suspicious drug activity to be reported to Troop B Narcotics Enforcement Unit at 897-2000.
