SCHROON LAKE —
A Schroon Lake man is in jail on three felony charges after allegedly stealing checks from an employer.
Peter Catalano, 37, was arrested 4:37 p.m. Friday after the Schroon Lake Tavern filed a report that checks were believed to have been stolen.
Following an investigation, State Police arrested Catalano and charged him with misdemeanor petit larceny and three felony counts of forgery.
Catalano was arraigned before Town of Schroon Lake Justice Jean Strothenke.
He is being held in Essex County Jail on $2,000 cash bail and is set to reappear in court at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
