DANNEMORA — A Clinton County couple was injured Monday morning in a two-car, head-on collision on the Wilfred King Road.

According to Plattsburgh-based State Police, Joseph H. Hoeth, 38, of Saranac was driving west at an unsafe speed in a 1997 Ford pickup truck when he tried to negotiate a curve, lost control of the vehicle on the slippery road and crossed into the opposite lane.

Rafael E. Marte, 45, of Ellenburg Depot was driving east on Wilfred King Road and was negotiating the same curve in a 2002 Saab sedan when Hoeth's truck struck the front of the car in the vicinity of Route 374, State Police said.

Marte suffered minor bleeding to his neck and complained of pain. His wife, Vicki Bettger-Marte, was riding in the car as a passenger and complained of face pain.

The couple was transported to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, where they were both treated and released.

Hoeth was ticketed for driving at an unreasonable speed.

Marte was ticketed for unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
