MOIRA — A Brushton woman suffered a minor injury Monday morning when she drove into a telephone pole.
According to Malone-based State Police, Judith M. Hawthorne, 62, was driving north at an unsafe speed in a 2002 Chevy Malibu at about 7:54 a.m.
State Police said Hawthorne lost control of the car on the slippery pavement and drove off the east shoulder, striking a snow embankment and then a telephone pole.
Hawthorne complained of chest pain and was transported to Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, where she was treated and released.
She was ticketed for driving at an unreasonable speed for the road conditions.
There was no damage to the telephone pole.
