PERSONAL-INJURY ACCIDENT
PLATTSBURGH — Two elderly Plattsburgh women were involved in a two-car accident Monday morning.

Teresa L. Carter, 83, was stopped at the traffic light at the end of Labarre Street facing the Route 3 intersection at about 10:39 a.m., according to Plattsburgh-based State Police.

Carter, who was driving a Buick, inadvertently took her foot off the brake and hit the gas pedal, causing it to roll into a car that was stopped in front of it, which was being driven by Ruth A. LaPoint, 84.

LaPoint complained of pain after the crash and was treated at CVPH Medical Center.

BEEKMANTOWN — A Plattsburgh man was injured when he was hit by a car Christmas Eve.

According to State Police, Anthony M. Bell, 40, of Bailey Avenue, was walking on Route 22 near Ashley Road around 6:24 p.m. when he apparently walked into the path of an oncoming vehicle driven by Lynn Golden, 45, of Keeseville.

Bell was taken to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh where he was listed in stable condition on Christmas Day, but no other information about his injuries was available.
