FELONY ARREST
CHAZY — A Plattsburgh man is accused of damaging a vehicle in Chazy.

On Nov. 16, State Police received a complaint from Terry James that a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire belonging to his daughter was damaged.

Adam J. Deno, 19, was subsequently arrested by Chazy-based State Police at 9:45 a.m. Sunday and charged with two counts of third-degree criminal mischief.

Police allege that Deno caused more than $250 worth of damage to the vehicle.

Deno was arraigned in Town of Chazy Court and was released after posting $250 cash bail.

He is scheduled to reappear in court at 6:30 p.m. today.

CHAMPLAIN — A Montreal man was arrested on a warrant issued by authorities in Florida when he attempted to enter the country.

Juan Manuel Lopez-Ramirez, 36, arrived at the Champlain Port of Entry Monday evening, according to Chazy-based State Police.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection personnel discovered that the Dade County Sheriff's Department had issued a warrant for Lopez-Ramirez's arrest. According to police records, he is wanted for third-degree grand larceny in the Miami area.

Lopez-Ramirez was charged with a felony for being a fugitive from justice.

He was arraigned in Town of Champlain Court and sent to the Clinton County Jail pending extradition to authorities in Florida.
