Police Log: Nov. 20, 2009 — Felony arrest

CHAZY — A Rouses Point man is behind bars after allegedly breaking into a home and attempting to steal more than $2,000.

Chazy-based State Police said Jake Lincourt, 20, allegedly entered the Bugby Road residence at about 2 p.m. Wednesday and attempted to steal $1,500 in cash, $500 in assorted loose change and $100 in rolled coins.

The homeowner's son, who was stopping by the property, reportedly caught Lincourt in the home.

State Police believe Lincourt was an acquaintance of the son.

Trooper Todd Brown arrested Lincourt and charged him with second-degree burglary.

He was arraigned before Champlain Town Justice John Favreau and is being held without bail in Clinton County Jail.

He is scheduled to reappear at the Town of Chazy Court at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 24.

Officials said Lincourt was released from Clinton County Jail on Nov. 9 after serving time for a previous burglary arrest.
