FELONY ARREST
AUSABLE — A local teen was arrested Monday after he allegedly hit a fellow student with a rock at AuSable Valley Central School.

Plattsburgh-based State Police said Jonathan G. Warner was taken into custody for second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Authorities believe the 16-year-old Jay resident took a sharp rock from a science classroom and assaulted the other student with it.

It was unclear Tuesday whether the injured teen sought medical treatment.

After his arrest, Warner was released from custody. He will reappear in court today to face the allegations.

MOIRA — A Brushton man is facing a felony charge after he allegedly caused hundreds of dollars of damage during a domestic altercation.

Malone-based State Police said Chad E. Brown was arrested for third-degree criminal mischief early Monday afternoon after he damaged a china cabinet inside a residence.

Police believe the 33-year-old caused about $1,000 worth of damage during the ordeal.

After being arraigned in Malone Town Court, Brown was released on his own recognizance.

He is due to appear in Moira Town Court Nov. 23 to face the charge.

CONDITION UPDATE
BURLINGTON — The West Chazy man seriously injured Sunday afternoon in a one-car rollover accident remained in critical condition Tuesday night.

Jeffrey A. Landry, 22, was driving north on Rapids Road in Champlain at about 2:20 p.m. Sunday when he approached the intersection of Route 11. Landry's Jeep Cherokee went off the road and rolled over three times, ejecting Landry, who was not wearing a seat belt, State Police said.

He was transported to CVPH Medical Center and later airlifted to Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington for treatment of head trauma, possible spine trauma and multiple other injuries.

State Police believe high rates of speed and alcohol were factors in the accident. The accident is still under investigation.
