FELONY ARRESTS
ELLENBURG DEPOT — Police believe a local teen went on a destructive joyride in a truck he stole from an area dealership.

Plattsburgh-based State Police said Tyler C. Campbell was arrested Friday evening in connection with the mid-October mischief.

Authorities believe the 17-year-old Ellenburg Depot resident stole the pickup and then tore through a field, causing extensive damage.

It was unclear Saturday where the truck was allegedly stolen from and whether it has since been recovered.

Campbell was later released from custody on an appearance ticket facing charges of third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree grand larceny.

CROWN POINT — A Guilford man has been arrested locally in connection with a theft earlier this year.

Westport-based State Police charged Jeremy R. Vantine with a single count of third-degree grand larceny for the July 27 theft in Crown Point.

After his arrest Friday, the 31-year-old was sent to Essex County Jail on $1,000 cash bail.

He will reappear in court at a later date to face the allegations.

No additional information about his arrest was available Saturday.

NORTH HUDSON — A traffic stop on Interstate 87 has left a Schenectady man facing a felony drug charge.

Lewis-based State Police said Dominic A. Stone was stopped heading south early Friday morning, when he was allegedly found with 10 pounds of pot in his vehicle.

The 28-year-old was subsequently arrested for first-degree criminal possession of marijuana.

It was unclear Saturday whether Stone was sent to jail following his 7:30 a.m. arrest.

NORTH HUDSON — Two Virginia residents were arrested in Essex County this week after they were allegedly caught with more than 16 ounces of marijuana.

Jonathan C. Kight, 34, and Diana J. Miller, 25, were both charged with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on Interstate 87 Friday evening.

They were later released from custody and will reappear in court later this month to face the allegations.
