CHILSON — A hunter was found unharmed after he became lost in the woods Saturday night.
Ticonderoga Town Police reported Fred Nicholson, described as in his mid-60s and not from this area, was hunting with a local friend in the area of Bear Pond Road and Putts Pond Road. Police were called at about 7:30 p.m. when Nicholson didn't come out of the woods after dark.
Members of the Ticonderoga and Chilson fire departments, the Ticonderoga Police Department, New York State Police and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation conducted an extensive grid search and found Nicholson in good health at around 10:30 p.m.
