FELONY ARREST
ELIZABETHTOWN — A local man was arrested this week after he allegedly violated a court order.

State Police charged Jason A. Clark Wednesday with a single count of first-degree criminal contempt.

Authorities said the 27-year-old Elizabethtown resident contacted a victim he was ordered to stay away from following an earlier domestic dispute.

Clark was taken into custody within hours of the alleged 6:30 a.m. encounter.

He will reappear in court next month to face the allegations.

CABBAGE NIGHT
PLATTSBURGH — Police are reminding area youth that they will be out in full force today to deter any Cabbage Night mischief.

Though the annual antics have declined in recent years, local law-enforcement expect to find a least a few incidents of vandalism and destruction on the eve of Halloween.

Those caught causing problems or damage could face criminal charges.

ACCIDENT UPDATE
ALBURG, Vt. — Four people were injured during a three-vehicle wreck on Memorial Bridge, which connects Rouses Point to Vermont.

According to Vermont State Police records, Joel Grimes, 19, of Isle la Motte was heading toward New York at about 2 p.m. Saturday when he lost control of his Ford Mustang and veered into oncoming traffic.

After crashing into a Vermont-bound car being driven by Kevin Creller, 55, of Alburg, Grimes crashed into a cement barrier, causing his vehicle to spin into James Burt's.

Creller and Burt, 40, of Burlington, along with passengers in each of their vehicles, complained of pain and bruising and were taken to Northwest Medical Center in St. Albans and CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

All were later treated and released.
