PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a hit-and-run accident in Plattsburgh that left a bicyclist injured Saturday.

Rasario Farnhan, 28, was riding his black and white Thruster BMX bike north on the Moffitt Road near the south-bound entrance to Interstate 87 at approximately 4:45 p.m., when he was stuck from behind by an unidentified vehicle, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Department.

Farnhan was ejected from his bike and lost consciousness on the side of the road; He was then transported to CVPH Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

The vehicle in question fled the scene, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

A witness to the incident reported seeing a female driver and child passenger in a white car of unknown make and model in the area at the time of the accident.

The child reportedly exited the vehicle and moved Farnhan’s bike to the opposite side of the road.

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Department is asking anyone with information about the incident, including auto-body shops that may encounter a vehicle with front-end damage, to call the Sheriff’s Department at 565-4340.
