Police Log: Feb. 2, 2010 — Felony arrest

PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh woman is accused of driving while intoxicated after being pulled over for speeding Saturday night.

At about 11:30 p.m., Clinton County Sheriff's Department deputies stopped a vehicle that was clocked driving 57 mph in a 45 mph zone on the Military Turnpike just north of Rugar Street.

During the traffic stop, deputies observed the driver, 29-year-old Jennifer Bowen, in what appeared to be an intoxicated state, according to a Sheriff's Department news release.

She allegedly failed field sobriety tests and was then given a breath test, which reportedly revealed her blood-alcohol content to be more than twice the legal limit.

Bowen was taken into custody and charged with felony driving while intoxicated.

She was charged with a felony because, according to deputies, she was convicted of driving while intoxicated in 2004.

After being arraigned in Schuyler Falls Town Court, Bowen was sent to Clinton County Jail, where she was released after posting $500 cash bail.

She is scheduled to reappear in court Feb. 3.
