TUPPER LAKE — A Sunmount employee was allegedly assaulted by a Sunmount client, suffering minor injuries. Tupper Lake State Police report that on Sept 25 they interviewed a Sunmount staff member who reported being put in a choke-hold and choked nearly unconscious by 24-year-old Christopher N. Chambers, while he and other staff members were escorting Chambers to a time-out area. Chambers was arrested for strangulation second-degree and unlawful imprisonment first-degree, both felonies, and assault third-degree, a misdemeanor. Chambers was arraigned in the Tupper Lake town court before Town Justice Leonard Young, and was sent to the Franklin County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. He has an Oct. 17 court date in the Tupper Lake court. The staff member was treated by Sunmount medical staff and was able to resume work.
