---- — PLATTSBURGH — A Champlain man was arrested Saturday for alleged drunken driving.
According to Plattsburgh-based State Police, officers observed a jeep being driven by Stephen L. Duprey, 29, speeding down Margaret Street in Plattsburgh at about 2:50 a.m.
Upon pulling over the jeep on Margaret Street, police said, officers observed that Duprey’s speech was impaired and his eyes glossy.
Duprey also failed a roadside sobriety test, according to police.
A breathalyzer given at the police station revealed Duprey’s blood-alcohol content to be 0.16 percent, police added.
He was charged with violating the speed limit, an infraction, and driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction within the last 10 years, a felony.
Police said Duprey’s previous drunken driving conviction took place in April 2009.
He was released to a sober third party on a ticket to appear in City Court on Friday, Jan. 4.
