TICONDEROGA — A Ticonderoga man was arrested on felony criminal contempt charges Sunday.
Ticonderoga police received a call from the friend of the ex-girlfriend of Mark C. Michalak, 30, late Saturday night informing them that Michalak was allegedly violating an order of protection between he and his ex-girlfriend that was put in place because of previous domestic incidents.
Michalak was arrested at 12:40 a.m. at 143 Champlain Ave. in Ticonderoga and charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony.
He was arraigned before Judge James O’Brien in Ticonderoga Town Court.
Michalak is being held in Essex County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
