Police Log: Aug. 6, 2012 — Stolen property

KEESEVILLE — More than $100,000 worth of property was reported missing from a Keeseville business last week.

Plattsburgh-based State Police said an employee of George Moore Truck & Equipment Corp. on Route 9 called authorities Friday morning to report a vehicle had been stolen from the location.

The employee told police he arrived at work to find a 2006 Freightliner tractor trailer missing from the yard, and upon driving around the property, discovered a 1994 East trailer, containing approximately $5,000 worth of aluminum, was also missing.

Police said surveillance footage shows the Freightliner truck, which has the words “Northern Car Crushers” printed on both sides, leaving the yard at 1 a.m. Friday and heading south on Route 9.

No one was visible in the footage.

The Freightliner vehicle is valued at $70,000, according to police, and the East trailer at $35,000.

Police said Sunday afternoon they had no leads but continue to investigate the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Plattsburgh State Police at 563-3761.
