BOMBAY — A Fort Covington man was arrested on a felony weapon assault charge.
William E. Rambo, 52, was visiting an acquaintance’s house on Aug. 13 when he allegedly attacked a man with a pocket knife, according to Plattsburgh-based State Police.
The victim was transported to Alice Hyde Medical Center, where he was treated for a superficial injury to the forehead and wrist.
Police interviewed the victim at the hospital, who said Rambo was asked to leave the property after he became belligerently drunk.
When someone tossed Rambo his keys, he opened a small pocketknife on the keychain and proceeded to cut the victim.
Police arrested Rambo at about 9:30 p.m. and charged him with second-degree assault with intent to cause physical injury, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.
He was arraigned in the Town of Bombay Court and remanded to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash.
Rambo is due back in court on Sept. 8.
