Police Log: Feb. 9, 2010 — Felony arrest

PLATTSBURGH — Authorities say a Plattsburgh man had three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system when he was pulled over Sunday night.

Clinton County Sheriff's deputies stopped Matthew Dewey on Route 374 around 11 p.m. after he allegedly failed to use a turning signal.

During the stop, sheriff's officials said, Dewey was found to be intoxicated and was subsequently given a field-sobriety test, which he reportedly failed.

A breath test revealed his blood-alcohol content was 0.24, officials said.

The 33-year-old was later sent to Clinton County Jail on $500 cash bail, which he posted.

He will reappear in court later this month to face the allegations.

Authorities said Dewey was charged with felony aggravated driving while intoxicated based on his DWI conviction in 2003.
