Police Log: Nov. 28, 2008 — Felony arrest


TICONDEROGA — A Crown Point man was arrested on multiple felony charges after operating his vehicle at an excessive speed that resulted in an accident early Thursday morning.

According to Ticonderoga Police Department records, Caleb J. Bush, 22, of Crown Point, ran a red light on Montcalm Street in Ticonderoga. Bush was allegedly going 80 mph in a 30 mph zone when police initiated pursuit, which was terminated after Bush's gray Toyota ran off the road and onto the Moses-Ludington Hospital lawn, then proceeded north on Wicker Street at more than 80 mph.

The vehicle went off the road again and into a ditch on Route 9N/22. Bush, whose license was suspended for a previous DWI, was arrested for felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle first-degree, aggravated DWI blood, DWI common Law, reckless driving, unlawful fleeing of a police officer in motor vehicle third-degree, failure to stop at red light, speed in zone, failure to keep right and leaving the scene of a property damage auto accident.

Bush was processed and released with tickets to appear Dec. 17 at 4:30 p.m. before the Town of Ticonderoga court. Both the Ticonderoga Fire Department and Ticonderoga Emergency Squad responded to the accident, according to Sgt. Mark Johns.
