Police Log: Oct. 30, 2008 — Felony arrest

PLATTSBURGH -- A Florida woman was arrested at a downstate airport earlier this week for her alleged involvement in a local 2005 forgery case.

Plattsburgh-based State Police investigators said Port Authority officials took Gillian Brown into custody at JFK International Airport Tuesday afternoon.

The 42-year-old Cape Coral woman has been wanted locally on felony scheme to defraud and possession of forged instrument charges. After her arrest, local authorities brought her back to the area where she was formally charged and sent to Clinton County Jail.

Officials said her arrest stems from a fraud case that involved forged credit cards that were used to rack up debt.

Jill Palmer, 42, of Dannemora, had been arrested on similar charges in 2005 in connection with the fraud.

Police said Brown is also wanted on fraud-related charges in Florida.
