CHAMPLAIN — A woman was arrested for possession of an alleged fraudulent check Saturday night.
Chazy-based State Police reported Abeer A. Ghadban, 44, of Laval, Quebec, attempted to enter the United States Saturday night. She was referred to secondary inspection when the initial inspection revealed she was involved in a fraudulent check case in Plattsburgh, police said.

She was charged with second-degree possession of a forged instrument, a felony.
Ghadban was arraigned before Champlain Town Justice John Favreau and remanded to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash/$10,000 bond. She is to reappear in Champlain Town Court at 4 p.m. July 2.
