PERU -- One man was injured in a car-deer accident at 6:20 p.m. Monday.
According to Plattsburgh-based State Police, James Moran, 43, of Keeseville, was driving north on Route 9 about a tenth of a mile north of the Rock Road when a deer ran onto the highway. The vehicle struck and killed the deer. Moran complained of neck pain and was taken to CVPH Medical Center. A hospital spokeswoman said he was treated and later released.
No tickets were issued and Moran was issued a tag to keep the deer.
