Police Log: July 9, 2012 — Felony arrest

PLATTSBURGH — A Quebec man was arrested on felony charges Friday.

Simon Lindenbaum, 80, of Laval, Quebec, was arrested at Sam’s Club in Consumer Square in Plattsburgh at 1:18 p.m. Friday following an investigation by Sam’s Club Asset Protection Officer Matthew St. Clair.

He was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny of property valued at more than $1,000.

Lindenbaum had allegedly stolen $1,744.64 worth of merchandise from the store including a desktop computer and a flat screen TV.

The shoplifting occurred on April 18 and June 24.

Lindenbaum was arraigned at Town of Plattsburgh Court before Judge Patnode.

He is being held at Clinton County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond.

No further information was available.
