MALONE — A Malone man was injured in a car accident Friday night.

Jeffrey R. Smith, 52, of Malone, was traveling west on Cargin Road in Malone when he encountered a vehicle that was crowding the road, according to Ray Brook-based State Police.

Smith drove into a ditch and continued driving until he crashed into a tree.

The force overturned his car onto its roof.

Smith was transported to Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone where he was treated and released.
