Police Log: Aug. 6, 2012 — Felony arrest

MALONE — Three women were taken into custody for allegedly stealing nearly $2,300 in merchandise from Wal-Mart in Malone.

The women worked together to steal a 40” Samsung LCD-TV, a DVD player and assorted fragrances from the store sometime after midnight Aug. 3, according to Malone-based State Police.

They placed the items in the backseat of their vehicle and attempted to leave the parking lot before being stopped by officers there.

Police said the total value of the items is $2,289.31.

Danielle C. Miller, 22, of West Chazy; Kimberly M. LaRoe, 28, of Plattsburgh; and Maria Santiago, 27, of the Bronx were taken into custody after police located the missing items while investigating their vehicle.

All three were charged with grand larceny, a felony.

The women were arraigned in the Town of Malone Court and remanded to Franklin County Jail on $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.

They are to reappear in court at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 21.
