PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh woman was arrested Friday for alleged identity theft.
Laura A. Trombley, 25, is accused of opening fraudulent credit card accounts in the name of her father, Kenneth Trombley.
Police said Kenneth discovered an unauthorized card in his name in December 2011, which Laura said was a mistake by the card company and was supposed to be in her name.
When Kenneth discovered additional fraudulent accounts in his name, however, he contacted police, who arrested Laura at 9:30 a.m. at 25 Cusprinie Way in Plattsburgh.
Laura was arraigned in the Town of Beekmantown Court and charged with one count of first-degree identity theft and one count of second-degree identity theft, both felonies.
She was remanded to County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail or $2,000 bond.
