CHAMPLAIN — At least one man was injured in a two-car accident Dec. 21.
Shortly before 3:03 p.m., a vehicle driven by Ronald M. Rich, 65, of Swanton, Vt., traveling west on Prospect Street in the Town of Champlain, stopped at a stop sign at Prospect Street’s intersection with State Route 276, according to Chazy-based State Police.
At the same time, a car driven by Steve Caron, 30, of East Farnham, Quebec, was driving south on Route 276. Rich allegedly failed to observe Caron’s vehicle approaching the intersection and Rich drove his vehicle into the intersection, police said.
Caron moved right and applied his brakes in an attempt to avoid an accident but his effort was unsuccessful and the two vehicles collided, police said.
Caron’s vehicle left the roadway and struck a stop sign.
Police could provide no information as to which man was injured or his current health condition.
