ALEXANDRIA — Brenda Lee Colby and Aaron Jackson Simpson were married Sept. 18, 2011, in a fairy tale wedding at Boldt Castle, Alexandria, by Sherry Pennington.
The bride is the daughter of Doreen E. Smith of Rouses Point and the late Wyon "Robert" Smith. The bridegroom is the son of Jackson and Charlotte Simpson of West Burke, Vt.
Emmalee E. Colby of Rouses Point, daughter of the bride, was matron of honor. Maid of honor was Kristena L.B. Colby of Champlain, the bride's daughter. Best man was Jackson Simpson, father of the bridegroom.
Kylee A. Young, the bride's niece, was flower girl. Ring bearer was Karsen B. Trim, grandson of the bride; and Alex R. Gendron, the bridegroom's nephew.
The bride was given in marriage by her son, Jeremiah S. Colby of Maricopia, Ariz.
MaryPat, cousin of the bride, said grace at dinner. Eleven-year-old Alissa, the bride's cousin, entertained, singing and playing the piano.
A reception was held at Riveredge Resort, organized by Justin Mann. Music was provided by Steve Crance of Amazing Sounds.
Brenda Colby Simpson graduated from NCCS in 1978. A school bus driver in Champlain for 17 years, she is a private elderly homecare giver and business owner of A to Z Property Maintenance.
Aaron Simpson graduated from Lyndon Institute in 1992. He is construction foreman for Conroy and Conroy in Beekmantown and business owner of A to Z Property Maintenance.
The Simpsons reside in Champlain. They are planning a two-week wedding trip to Hawaii in 2012.
