Don’t assail or impugn an identifiable individual or group. If you have that kind of criticism, sign your name and submit it as a Letter to the Editor. (There is some leeway on this in connection with public officials, but it is not unconditional.)

Don’t use profanity. This includes the term “tea bagger.”

Don’t be incendiary or tasteless. Those qualities are subjective, of course, and our editors will be the arbiters.

Do not identify yourself in the main content area of the article content form. Only by enforcing this rule can the moderators prevent unscrupulous commenters from falsely identifying themselves as someone they are not.

Don't type in all caps. It is considered the Internet equivalent of shouting.

In sports articles, do not criticize officiating.

Remember, moderators are not allowed to edit any article comments. If an article comment fails any of the above criteria, the entire comment will be deleted.

Clarke - Benway

WESTPORT - Courtney Michelle Clarke and Lucus Emmett John Benway were married June 15, 2012, at the residence of the bride's grandparents, Alvin and Judy Gates, with Shelia Borden officiating. Receptions were held at both the Dougal and Clark/Cereske residences.

The bride is the daughter of Chris Clarke of Kellar, Texas and Penny Clarke of Peru. The bridesgroom is the son of Jeffrey Benway and Nancy Dougal of Essex.

The matron of honor was Leah King of Willsboro, cousin of the bride. The best man was the groom's brother, Matthew Benway of Willsboro, and the ring bearer was Christopher Clarke, brother of the bride.

Courtney and Lucus Benway graduated from Westport Central School in 2009 and attended college at Clinton Community College, Plattsburgh. Courtney is employed at Glens Falls National Bank, Plattsburgh and Lucus is employed at Adirondack Farms in Peru.

The couple resides in Peru. A wedding trip to Las Vegas is planned for 2013.
