Don’t use profanity. This includes the term “tea bagger.”

Don’t be incendiary or tasteless. Those qualities are subjective, of course, and our editors will be the arbiters.

Do not identify yourself in the main content area of the article content form. Only by enforcing this rule can the moderators prevent unscrupulous commenters from falsely identifying themselves as someone they are not.

Don't type in all caps. It is considered the Internet equivalent of shouting.

In sports articles, do not criticize officiating.

Remember, moderators are not allowed to edit any article comments. If an article comment fails any of the above criteria, the entire comment will be deleted.

Bechard: 50 years

PLATTSBURGH and NORTH PORT, Fla. — Claude and Beverly Bechard of Plattsburgh and North Port, Fla., celebrated their 50th anniversary on July 21, at Crickets in Peru. They were married on Sept. 29, 1962, at St. Josephs in Coopersville.

Mrs. Sally Smith, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor and bridesmaids were: Linda Lucas and Penny Parrott, sisters of the bride, Mary Lou Bedard, cousin of the bride and Beverly Rascoe, friend of the bride.

Best man was Ronald Bechard, brother of the groom and ushers were Roswell Beeman, Carl Smith, Dean Webb and Gary Belle.

Beverly retired after many years of service as Rouses Point Village Clerk and Claude is a retired teamster after 35 years of service.

Claude and Beverly have three children: Thomas and his wife Terry of Rouses Point; Robin of Plattsburgh; and Bryan and his wife Michelle of Morrisonville. They are also blessed with eight grandchildren, Nathan, Jessica, Stephen, Karl, Laura, Matthew, Jacob and Morgan.

There were over 80 guests that joined in the celebration given by the couples three children.
