PLATTSBURGH — William H. Sr. and Janet R. Quick of Plattsburgh celebrated their 50th anniversary.
William Quick and Janet Rabideau were married Oct. 12, 1961, in St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. The Rev. Bellay recited the vows.
Bill was born and raised in Evansville, Ind. He met Janet Rabideau in her home town of Plattsburgh while he was stationed at Plattsburgh Air Force Base as an aircraft refueler.
Bill retired from Georgia Pacific, and Janet was a councilor for Clinton County Mental Health at Breakthrough II.
Bill and Janet attended the 29th-annual Marriage Jubilee Mass at St. Mary's Cathedral in Ogdensburg. Their vows were renewed by the Rev. Terry R. LaValley, bishop of Ogdensburg. A reception was held in Brazana Hall.
The Quicks have two daughters, Mrs. Tammy (Lou) Larose of Westport and Jody (Richard) Johns of Winston, Salem, N.C. They also had a son, Bill Jr., who died in 2004. They have six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Bill and Janet were surprised with a party at AuSable Chasm, given by Tammy and Jody. Their uncle, Ross Bouyea, presented them with a new 2011 Toyota Sienna van.
