Don’t assail or impugn an identifiable individual or group. If you have that kind of criticism, sign your name and submit it as a Letter to the Editor. (There is some leeway on this in connection with public officials, but it is not unconditional.)

Don’t use profanity. This includes the term “tea bagger.”

Don’t be incendiary or tasteless. Those qualities are subjective, of course, and our editors will be the arbiters.

Do not identify yourself in the main content area of the article content form. Only by enforcing this rule can the moderators prevent unscrupulous commenters from falsely identifying themselves as someone they are not.

Don't type in all caps. It is considered the Internet equivalent of shouting.

In sports articles, do not criticize officiating.

Remember, moderators are not allowed to edit any article comments. If an article comment fails any of the above criteria, the entire comment will be deleted.

Tedford -- St. Clair

PERU — Thomas and Dena Tedford of Peru announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsey of Buell Street, Albany, to Jonathan Royal St. Clair, also of Albany. He is the son of Richard and Patricia St. Clair of Glens Falls.

Lindsey Tedford graduated from Seton Catholic Central School in 2007 and Plattsburgh State in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in human development and family relations. She is a distance delivery program assistant at The College of Saint Rose and is pursuing a master of education degree in college student services administration at The College of Saint Rose.

Jonathan St. Clair graduated from Glens Falls High School in 2006 and Plattsburgh State in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in finance and a bachelor’s degree in economics. He is a financial analyst at SUNY Albany and is pursuing a master’s degree at The College of Saint Rose.

The couple got engaged on April 21 at the Breakwater Lighthouse on a trip to Portland, Maine. A July 19, 2013, wedding is planned in Queensbury.
