Don’t assail or impugn an identifiable individual or group. If you have that kind of criticism, sign your name and submit it as a Letter to the Editor. (There is some leeway on this in connection with public officials, but it is not unconditional.)

Don’t use profanity. This includes the term “tea bagger.”

Don’t be incendiary or tasteless. Those qualities are subjective, of course, and our editors will be the arbiters.

Do not identify yourself in the main content area of the article content form. Only by enforcing this rule can the moderators prevent unscrupulous commenters from falsely identifying themselves as someone they are not.

Don't type in all caps. It is considered the Internet equivalent of shouting.

In sports articles, do not criticize officiating.

Remember, moderators are not allowed to edit any article comments. If an article comment fails any of the above criteria, the entire comment will be deleted.

Dubois: 65 years

CHAMPLAIN — William and Agatha Dubois of Champlain recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a family dinner. 

William Dubois and Agatha Babbie were married on April 19, 1947, in St. Mary’s Church in Champlain by the Rev. Monsignor Domina Brault, after which they traveled by train to honeymoon in New York City. Their attendants were Rita (Dubois) Chapman, sister of the bridegroom, and Donald Chapman, brother-in-law of the bridegroom.

William (Joe) retired from the Champlain Telephone Co in 1988. Agatha retired from F. W. Myers in 1985. They have five children, Sharron LaVenture and husband, Rick of Champlain; William Dubois and wife, Lydia of Laredo, Texas; Susan Mawhinney and husband, Jack of Mooers Forks; Ricky Dubois and wife, Kay of Champlain; and Tami Trembley and husband, David of Champlain. They have 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
