Ashline: 50 years


PERU — Charles and Loretta Ashline of 661 Prospect St., Champlain, celebrated their 50th anniversary Nov. 14, 2009. The couple was surprised with a limousine ride and family party at Cricket's Restaurant in Peru.

Charles and Loretta were married Nov. 14, 1959, in St. James Minor Church, Cadyville, by the Rev. Daniel Lyddy. Their wedding attendants were Carolyn (Ballargeon) Krause and Edson Roberts.

Charles is retired from Sheridan/Harris Graphics in Champlain. He keeps busy with gardening and working around the house.

Loretta is retired from Northeastern Clinton Central School in Champlain. She stays busy around the house, enjoys traveling and spoiling her grandchildren, Dennis Downs and his wife, Beca, and Darren Downs of Colorado Springs; and Kassandra Ashline and Jessica Ashline of Champlain. They are also blessed with a new great-grandchild (Jazmyn).

They have three children: Raymond and Carol (Ashline) Downs of Whitehall, Stephen C. Ashline of Rouses Point, and Joseph and Diane Ashline of Champlain.
