MICHIGAN — Maxine and Bob Lentz of Sebewaing, Michigan celebrated their 50th anniversary at a dinner party given in their honor by their children at the Pasta House in Kinde, Michigan.
They were married on July 28, 1962 at the home of the bride's parents in Dannemora, New York. Elmon Henry, brother of the bride, was best man and Joyce (Henry) Boothe, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. They have two children Douglas (Angie) Lentz of Kansas City, Kansas and Julie Barker of Grand Blanc, Michigan and three grandchildren, Kendra, Raegan and Lawson Barker of Grand Blanc and a grandson, Isaac Henry Lentz born October 12, 2012.
Mrs. Lentz is the daughter of the late Oren and Mildred (Moore) Henry of Dannemora and the granddaughter of the late Harold and Hazel Moore of Ellenburg Center, New York and the late Harold and Emma Henry of Dannemora.
Mr. Lentz is the son of Mrs. Janie Rachels of Camden, Arkansas and the late Charles Lentz of Humnoke, Arkansas.
Mrs. Lentz graduated from Mildred Elley School of Business and retired from the University of Michigan Medical Center. She enjoys knitting, crafts and reading. Mr. Lentz served in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from Schoolcraft College. He retired from the State of Michigan, Department of Social Services and the University of Michigan Medical Center. He enjoys fishing, gardening, playing cards and reading and both enjoy camping and spending time with family and their grandchildren.
They have traveled extensively since their retirement, spending several winters on Padre Island, Texas. They celebrated their anniversary by taking a cruise in the Western Caribbean and were also honored at a surprise party in Alexander City, Alabama at the home of Maxine's aunt and uncle which was attended by her brother and sister-in-law from South Carolina and sister from Georgia along with other relatives in the area.
