CHAZY — Robert and Gloria Young of Chazy celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 12, 2009. They commemorated the event by renewing their wedding vows at the home of their daughter, Cheryl McCarthy, of Rouses Point, with family and friends present.
Robert Young and Gloria Pholer were married in Keeseville Sept. 12, 1959.
Robert served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and retired from Howard Johnson's in Plattsburgh where he was head chef. Gloria is a loving homemaker and stayed home to raise the couple's five children, Wendy Schwank, Cheryl McCarthy, Roberta Young, Gloria Jean Beauharnois, all of New York state; and a son, Eric Young, of Florida. They have 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
